Social tourism has proven to be a key tool for inclusion, the balanced development of communities and the development of a more equitable and accessible tourism for all. In a global context where social sustainability is becoming increasingly relevant, the Encuentro de las Américas de Turismo Social 2025 will bring together specialists, organisations and key actors to reflect on the impact and future of the tourism sector.
Under the theme ‘Inspiring, making an impact and transforming lives’, the Encuentro will provide a space for reflection and debate on tourism as a driver of social change. Its role in community rebuilding through resilience-building initiatives will be explored, as well as funding and innovation opportunities for the growth of projects with a social mission. It will also analyse cutting-edge approaches to accessibility and inclusion and discuss the evolution of sustainable tourism towards a regenerative model, with a lasting positive impact on territories and their communities.
In the framework of the Encuentro, a call will be opened for the presentation of academic papers and field studies that showcase best practices and inspiring experiences in social tourism. We invite ISTO partners and allies to take advantage of this opportunity for regional and international visibility, sharing initiatives that have generated transformation in their communities.
