This event will take place from 30 August to 2 September 2023 in the city of León (Mexico) and will address four main themes: Tourism and territory, Tourism and society, Tourism and ecosystems and Tourism and culture.
From 2017 and again in 2023, the International Social Tourism Organisation (ISTO) will support and participate in the Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit organised in the Municipality of León, state of Guanajuato in Mexico.
This year, a new theme comes to the Sustainable & Social Tourism Summit: Tourism and Culture with keynote lectures such as: "Cultural Heritage and Tourism: proposals for an effective and lasting cross-sectoral cooperation". See the full programme here.
This will also be an opportunity to learn and talk about "Tourism and Society" with sub-themes related to talent retention and vocational crisis, entrepreneurial opportunities in social tourism and citizenship building and education.
The President of ISTO International, Isabel Novoa, will be one of the special guests of the event, participating in a panel on employment prospects in tourism as well as leading a workshop on social sustainability indicators for tourism. She will be accompanied by ISTO Americas representatives, Sergio Rodríguez and Verónica Gómez, president and director respectively, who will also actively participate in this great event.
