To mark International Week of Fair and Sustainable Tourism for All, organised by ISTO, and the Fair Trade Education Day (FAIR Future Programme – Fair Trade France – French Development Agency), ATES invites you to a webinar dedicated to a key question: how can we rethink our tourism practices to make them fairer, more inclusive and more ethical?
Open to everyone, and particularly to tourism professionals and institutional stakeholders, this webinar aims to provide a better understanding of the realities and challenges of solidarity-based and fair tourism.
On the agenda:
- Unpacking what solidarity-based tourism entails – a concept with no official definition but at the heart of many committed initiatives;
- Exploring the various existing approaches: from social entrepreneurship and the right to holidays for all to projects led by local communities, sometimes outside the market;
- Highlighting fair tourism, which aims to rebalance economic relations within the tourism sector, in line with fair trade;
- Discover the Fair Tourism label and its fundamental pillars, as well as its roots in the social and solidarity economy;
- Clarify the differences between solidarity-based tourism, fair tourism and voluntourism;
- Identify the main networks involved in France and access resources to explore these topics in greater depth.
At a time when expectations regarding tourism’s social responsibility and impact are constantly rising, this webinar offers insights and practical steps to help bring about positive change in the sector!
