The ONAT4All partners, including the International Social Tourism Organisation (ISTO), gathered in Catania on 10 and 11 July for their 3rd Transnational Meeting. The event proved to be a productive and fruitful occasion, allowing participants to engage in discussions about ongoing activities and focus on key topics related to the project.
The ONAT4All project, funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program, aims to make significant strides in promoting accessibility and inclusivity in the tourism sector. One of the primary objectives discussed during the meeting was the development of a guidebook aimed at promoting the autonomy of individuals with disabilities in participating in nature/adventure activities and outdoor tourism. This guidebook seeks to provide essential information and resources to enable people with disabilities to explore and enjoy the natural world to its fullest extent.
In addition to the guidebook, the partners also deliberated on the creation of a specialized training course in Accessible Tourism. This course will focus on enhancing participants' understanding of the unique needs of customers with accessibility requirements and equipping tourism professionals with the necessary skills to provide inclusive and accessible experiences.
Another vital component of the project is the development of an accessible digital marketing toolkit. Recognizing the significance of digital platforms in reaching a broader audience, the partners are working towards creating a toolkit that will assist tourism small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in implementing effective digital marketing strategies that cater to people with disabilities.
Importantly, all these tools are being developed based on a co-creation approach, ensuring the active involvement of stakeholders from the project countries. By involving various stakeholders, including people with disabilities, tourism professionals, and experts, the project aims to raise awareness and foster the development of skills necessary to facilitate the accessible transition of tourism SMEs.
With numerous initiatives underway, the ONAT4All partners encourage everyone to stay tuned for further updates.
