The Instituto Distrital de Turismo aims to implement policies, plans and programmes for the promotion of tourism and the positioning of Bogotá as a sustainable tourism destination. Its mission is to promote the integral development and economic strengthening of Bogotá, through tourism as a mitigator of social, economic and environmental impact; through policies, plans and projects from local vocations, the generation of information, the promotion of the city at national and international level as a competitive, sustainable, safe, accessible and inclusive destination, which articulates with the region to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants and the actors of the sector's value chain.
The Institute defends what is written hereabove through 3 main strategic lines:
- Management of the destination;
- Promotion and marketing of the city;
- Tourism observatory.
