Biography
PhD in Geography (Regional and Local Planning) from the University of Lisbon, Carlos Ferreira worked, from 1991 to 2008, in a consultancy firm, on spatial planning, tourism strategies, local/regional development, policy/project assessment. Carlos Ferreira is also an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography and Tourism, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Coimbra, Portugal, focusing on tourism planning and development; social tourism; tourism geographies; leisure and tourism facing demographic ageing; Big Data and tourist mobilities.
Carlos Ferreira is an invited teacher in several post-graduate (PhD and Master) programmes and responsible for 18 completed or ongoing PhD and Master supervisions. As a consultant or academic Carlos Ferreira coordinated several research projects/studies, both national and international. Published over 15 peer reviewed papers, 16 sections of books and 2 books.
