The Director of ISTO International and the Director of ISTO Americas signed the open letter that emphasizes the importance of leisure because of its multiple benefits, both collective and individual, in times of pandemic.
Our member, Conseil Québécois du Loisir, has promoted the open letter "Leisure, an essential service" which has been signed by 54 representatives of different organizations. Among the signatories are Charles-E. Bélanger as Director of ISTO International and Veronica Gomez as Director of ISTO Americas.
The letter seeks to highlight the importance of recreation for both individuals and groups due to its multiple benefits to health, education, culture and social inclusion.
The document represents about 4500 organizations. It highlights that in the current times, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the entire community benefits from organized and safely supervised recreational activities.
