The National Tourism Service SERNATUR is a public organization in charge of promoting and disseminating the development of Chile's tourism activity. The National Directorate is located in the city of Santiago and has representation in all regions of the country through the Regional Directorates of Tourism. Sernatur also has local offices in San Pedro de Atacama, Easter Island, Chillán, Los Ángeles, Arauco, La Unión, Osorno, Chiloé, Palena and Puerto Natales. Its strategic objectives are to execute plans and/or programs based on the National Tourism Policy, promoting the sustainable development of the tourism activity, encouraging specialization, quality and competitiveness of the industry and promoting national tourist destinations and attractions, in order to contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of the country.
