Cancun Summit: ISTO reviews employment and tourism.

The third edition of the Sustainable and Social Tourism Summit took place from June 23 to 26 2019 in Cancun (Quintana Roo - Mexico), and once again counted on the support and assistance of ISTO Americas.

Mexico's most important sustainable tourism event was opened by Quintana Roo State Governor Carlos Joaquín González, Mexico's Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco, Quintana Roo Secretary of Tourism Marisol Vanegas, among other important Mexican public authorities, as well as ISTO Americas President Sergio Rodriguez Abitia.

Regarding the participation of ISTO Americas, its Director, Veronica Gomez, presented the conference, "Employment and Tourism: Where have we gone and where are we headed? ", in accordance with the main theme of World Tourism Day 2019, declared by the World Tourism Organization - UNWTO.

The President, Sergio Rodriguez Abitia, led the closing conference "The role of entrepreneurs and social actors in the construction of transformative tourism" presented by the French philosopher Gilles Lipovestky.

The Sustainable and Social Tourism Summit hosted 30 speakers and 400 participants, while bringing together the Tourism Secretaries of most Mexican states, tourism entrepreneurs and tour operators, sustainability managers of the sector's companies, to discuss and share experiences to address current and future tourism challenges.
