A major figure in the French family holiday club sector, Villages Clubs du Soleil is a Marseilles-based company founded in 1960 as an association, which has steadily developed without ever abandoning the values that guided its creation. Today, the company operates 17 Villages Clubs, offering all-inclusive holidays in the mountains, the ski resorts and the seaside, with nearly 8,000 beds and welcoming almost 130,000 customers every year. With the aim of sharing sustainable holidays, Villages Clubs du Soleil is committed to an environmentally, social and community- conscious approach on a daily basis. The group's commitment is also reflected in its governance model: the company is 99% owned by 2 associations: Villages Clubs du Soleil and Renouveau Vacances.
The desire to grow while remaining close to its associative roots also led Villages Clubs du Soleil to acquire Vacancéole in 2023, a group renowned for managing and operating around a hundred tourist establishments across France. With this acquisition, the Villages Clubs du Soleil Vacancéole Group expands its presence on the French market, while diversifying their destinations and service offering, thus becoming one of the French leaders in the sector. By 2023, the group has joined the top 20 largest companies in the Aix-Marseille metropolitan area.
We are ‘Exemplary’! It's not us saying it, it's AFNOR Certification. In 2023, Villages Clubs du Soleil was awarded the highest level of recognition under the 26000 standard for the third time in a row. Proof that the company places CSR at the heart of its concerns. We also remain the only holiday village company in France certified to the ISO 50001 energy standard, with 14 certified establishments within our portfolio in November 2023, representing 82% of our sites.
