Local or regional government agency
VisitScotland is responsible for the sustainable development of Scotland's visitor economy. They work with a wide range of partners domestically and internationally to maximize the positive impact of tourism for Scotland. This is achieved through focus on key strategies such as marketing, events organization, quality and sustainability, international engagement as well as inclusive tourism. Underpinning all of these activities is a strong commitment to partnership working, to sustainable, inclusive tourism development, and to raising the quality of the visitor experience. As part of the Spirit of Scotland campaign, VisitScotland has - thanks to the generosity of businesses around the country -secured donated accommodation, travel and tickets to attractions to help provide 100 short breaks in Scotland for disadvantaged or vulnerable families. VisitScotland will deliver this in partnership with The Family Holiday Association, a registered charity and also ISTO member, which will work with local charities and support organisations to identify families who will benefit the most from these breaks. These will all be families who haven't had a break in several years, are living on a low income and are struggling with some of the toughest challenges life can bring.
