The European Commission reacts to our appeal.

At the end of October, ISTO and 49 other European tourism stakeholders signed an open letter to Ursula von der Leyen, President-elect of the European Commission.

The aim was to call for better recognition of tourism within the new European Commission and the creation of a Commission portfolio on transport and tourism. Good news: the appeal has been heard! In the mission letter that Ursula von der Leyen wrote to the Commissioner for Transport Adina Valean, one sentence stands out: "I want you to cooperate closely with the Commissioner for Internal Market on a sustainable and competitive tourism industry.
