ISTO supports the importance of accessibility at the 1st TUR4all Congress.
ISTO President Inès Ayala Sender addressed the inaugural session of the 1st Tur4all Congress on accessible cruise destinations held in Valencia (Spain) on 2 and 3 December.
Organised by the Spanish platform representing the State for people with physical disabilities (PREDIF) with other partner organisations, this event had 4 objectives: to raise awareness among professionals in the tourism sector, promote synergies at international level, position the Valencia Region as an accessible destination and promote Spanish cruise ports as accessible destinations. This congress, the ISTO president stressed, is important because it allows us to see how to offer creative solutions and generate alliances for cruise passengers and destinations so that they are more accessible to people with mobility limitations. At EU level, it is estimated that 90 million people choose their tourist destination according to the level of accessibility, making accessibility a fundamental criteria when choosing a destination or a type of tourism.
