The President and Vice-President of the Americas section attended the event held in the capital city from 26 to 29 March to meet with ISTO's Mexican members and the country's tourism sector main stakeholders.
This year, the Tianguis Turístico brought the representatives of Mexican tourism to Mexico City for four days entirely dedicated to the sector, bringing together all the states of the Mexican Republic and more than 600 exhibitors from all over Mexico.
Monday 27 March was the occasion for ISTO Americas’ President and Vice-President, Sergio Rodríguez and Stephanie Sheehy, to hand over the certificate of membership for the year 2023 to the Secretaría de Economía Sustentable y Turismo del Estado de Baja California as well as to greet members such as the Honorable Ayuntamiento de San Luis Potosí, the Secretaría de Turismo del Estado de Guanajuato and the Municipio de Irapuato.
Tuesday 28 was dedicated to the 2023 membership certificate handing-over by Stephanie Sheehy, ISTO Americas’ Vice President and Director of the Red Costarricense de Turismo Accesible, to a brand new member, the Secretaría de Turismo del Estado de Querétaro.
Then, Sergio Rodríguez, ISTO Americas’ President and Director of CCC Consultores, participated in the official announcement of the seventh edition of the Sustainable and Social Tourism Summit, which will take place again in León, Guanajuato, from 30 August to 2 September 2023.
The Tianguis Turístico of Mexico 2023 ended on a high note for ISTO with the official presentation of the Encuentro de las Américas de Turismo Social at the stand of the Secretaría de Turismo y Cultura Morelos, co-organiser of this new event with the Fideicomiso Turismo Morelos and the Centro Vacacional IMSS Oaxtepec.
