One of the key activities of the International Social Tourism Organisation (ISTO) is to highlight its members' initiatives to promote Tourism for All. With nearly thirty activities taking place in a dozen countries in Latin America, Africa and Europe, the 5th edition of the International Week for Fair and Sustainable Tourism for All was once again a success, thanks to ISTO members.
Organised each year by ISTO, the International Week for Fair and Sustainable Tourism for All represents an opportunity for tourism professionals from all horizons to showcase their work for a people-centered form of tourism that respects local communities, workers in the sector and visitors. Members of ISTO's international network were invited to organise their own events of any kind (workshops, webinars, conferences, reports, visual content, guided tours) and they largely responded. Nearly 30 activities were carried out in a dozen countries by 19 member organisations.
For its part, ISTO took the opportunity to hold its General Assembly online, bringing together sixty members, and to organise an CafecISTO International. The latter, available on Youtube, provided participants with all the essential information on the ISTO World Congress, which will take place from 21 to 25 October 2024 in San José, Costa Rica.
Thank you once again to all the members for their strong commitment to Tourism for All and for taking the time to propose so many enriching activities! You can find the list of activities that were part of this International Week for Fair and Sustainable Tourism for All on the dedicated webpage.
